Description
Further details:
The calligraphy to the left of the circle is a poem by Master Sengai (18th century, Japan): ‘Help yourself and have a cup of tea.’
Below the poem is the ‘Butsu’ seal, which means Buddha.
Rice paper, stiff and thin.
The colours are produced using coloured inks.
To frame the artwork:
Although the rice paper has a backing, it remains delicate and dust tends to settle on it, so we recommend placing it under glass.
You may choose a simple frame that complements the simplicity of the painting, or opt to add a passe-partout first.
