Plum tree
The plum tree represents spring because its flowers bloom whilst there is still snow on the ground. A symbol of spiritual awakening. The plum tree embodies vigour, longevity, resilience and independence; it is “like an orphan who stands on their own two feet without anyone’s help”.
Orchids, bamboo, plum trees and chrysanthemums represent the KI, or vital energy, of the four seasons and the four stages of human life. They are considered the “Four Nobles”.
