Meaning of the lily:
The red spider lily is known as higanbana, the flower of the equinox, and is associated with the worship and celebration of ancestors. It is also regarded as an almost divine flower that grows in paradise, a symbol of elevation and spirituality.

In the bottom right-hand corner is the calligraphic character “Butsu”, meaning Buddha.
The seal beneath the calligraphy reads “Gyo”: to practise, to repeat.
Rice paper, stiff and thin.
The colours are produced using coloured inks.
To frame the artwork:
Although the rice paper has a backing, it remains delicate and dust tends to settle on it, so we recommend placing it under glass.
You can choose a simple frame that complements the minimalist style of the painting, or opt to add a passe-partout first.
