In the centre-right is the artist’s signature, accompanied by the ‘Butsu’ seal, meaning ‘Buddha’.
The grass-style calligraphy (bottom centre) is a poem by Master Sengai, 18th century, Japan: ‘Serve yourself and have a cup of tea.’ With the ‘Gyo’ seal: to practise, to repeat.

The bamboo paper is mounted on a white polypropylene backing:
This is an innovative mounting technique using modern materials, a multi-stage process requiring great concentration and experience.

The result is excellent: the backing makes the paper more durable; the work acquires a certain rigidity, ideal for framing.
The colours are produced using coloured inks.

For framing the artwork:
Although the bamboo paper has a backing, it remains delicate and dust tends to settle on it, so we recommend placing it under glass.
You may choose a simple frame that complements the simplicity of the painting, or opt to add a passe-partout first.
